Usage

Crolom (Cromolyn sodium) is a prescription medication used to treat certain allergic eye conditions like vernal keratoconjunctivitis, vernal conjunctivitis, and vernal keratitis. The drug prevents the itching, tearing, redness, and pain of the eyes that often occur with these allergic conditions. The active ingredient in Crolom is Cromolyn sodium. Cromolyn sodium belongs to a class of drugs called mast cell stabilizers. It works on certain cells called mast cells, preventing them from releasing substances that cause allergic reactions.

The common side effects of Crolom are mild burning or stinging of eyes, watery eyes, puffy eyes, and dry or irritated eyes.

Stop using Crolom and contact your doctor right away if you have any of the serious side effects such as:

• Hives;
• Severe burning, stinging, or irritation of the eyes;
