Warnings and Interactions

• Heart disease, or a history of heart disease;
• Severe liver disease;
• Stroke;
• Uncontrolled blood pressure;
• Have taken clarithromycin, itraconazole, ketoconazole, nelfinavir, or ritonavir in the past 72 hours
• Have taken ergot-type medications in the past 24 hours, such as almotriptan, naratriptan, rizatriptan, sumatriptan, zolmitriptan

Before taking this medication, tell your doctor about your medical history especially:
• Diabetes;
• High blood pressure;
• High cholesterol;
• Liver disease;
• If you are over 40 or a smoker;
• If you are a woman going through menopause

This medication may make you dizzy or drowsy. You should not drive or do any activity that requires you to be alert. Limit alcoholic beverages. Talk to your doctor about all the medications you take including prescriptions, OTC and herbal medications. There may be a drug interaction between Xarelto and other medications, especially: antidepressants, antihistamines, anti-seizure drugs, muscle relaxants, narcotic pain relievers, psychiatric medicines, sibutramine, St. John's wort, and etc. This medication should only be used during pregnancy if it is clearly needed. This medication passes into breast milk. Talk to your doctor before breast-feeding a baby.
