Product Details

Kazano (Alogliptin/Metformin) is a combination prescription diabetes medication that is used to help control blood sugar levels. Alogliptin works by regulating the levels of insulin your body produces after eating. Metformin works by decreasing glucose production in the liver and decreasing absorption of glucose by the intestines. This medication is usually combined with other diabetes medications in combination with a proper diet and exercise program. Kazano is used by people with type 2 diabetes. Kazano is not used to treat type 1 diabetes.


Side Effects and Precautions

The common side effects may include bloating/gas, diarrhea, nausea, upset stomach, vomiting, and weakness. The serious side effects may include:
• Dark urine;
• Change in the amount of urine;
• Joint pain;
• Loss of appetite;
• Severe stomach/abdominal/back pain;
• Yellowing eyes/skin

You should not take Kazano if you are allergic to Alogliptin/Metformin or if you have any other allergies. Before you start taking Kazano, talk to your doctor about your medical conditions and about all the medications you are taking including OTC and herbal medications. Kazano can cause changes in a woman’s menstrual cycle and increase the chances of pregnancy. Pregnancy may cause or worsen diabetes. Metformin passes into breast milk in small amounts. It is not known if Alogliptin passes into breast milk. You should not drink alcohol as it lowers blood sugar and may increase your risk of lactic acidosis.
