Invokana Details (Brand and Generic)

CanadaPharmacyOnline.com has an inventory of Invokana at competitive prices. The brand Invokana comes from Canada, India, and the United Kingdom manufactured by Janssen. The generic version of Invokana is currently unavailable.

Dosage

Invokana is sold in the strength of 100 mg and 300 mg tablets.

Usage

Invokana (Canagliflozin Hemihydrate) is a prescription oral diabetes medication that treats type 2 diabetes in adults. This medication is used in combination with a proper diet and exercise program. Canagliflozin belongs to a new type of diabetes medication class called sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitors. It works by helping the kidneys get rid of glucose from your bloodstream. Controlling high blood sugar helps prevent kidney damage, vision loss, nerve problems, loss of limbs, and sexual dysfunction.

Side Effects

The possible Invokana side effects include: constipation, dizziness, dry mouth, fatigue, lightheadedness, nausea, urinary tract infections, vaginal itching, or yeast infections. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you experience any of the following serious side effects:
• An allergic reaction (skin rash, itching, swelling of the face/throat);
• Signs of bladder infection (fever, burning/pain when you urinate);
• Signs of high potassium in the blood (muscle weakness, slow/irregular heartbeat);
• Signs of low blood sugar (blurred vision, sudden sweating);
• Signs of kidney problem (changes in the amount of urine, swelling legs/feet);
• Signs of a yeast infection (vagina or penis)

The above information is a summary and may not contain all information. If you still have questions about side effects, you should talk to your doctor or pharmacist so they can address all your concerns.

Warnings and Interactions

You should not use Invokana if you are allergic to Canagliflozin Hemihydrate or to any ingredients of the medication, or if you have severe kidney disease or if you are on dialysis. Before you start taking this medication, tell your doctor if you have or ever had any of the following medical conditions:
• Dehydration;
• Heart failure;
• Kidney or liver disease;
• Low blood pressure;
• Mineral imbalances (high levels of potassium);
• History of yeast infection

Invokana may cause the risk of bone fracture, and lower-limb amputations. This medication may cause blurred vision, dizziness, or drowsiness. Alcohol or marijuana can make you more dizzy. Do not drive or perform any activity that requires alertness until you can do it safely. Talk to your doctor about all the medications you take including prescription, OTC, and herbal medications. Also tell them about any vitamins and supplements you take. There may be a drug interaction between Invokana and other medications, especially: digoxin, diuretics, phenytoin or phenobarbital, rifampin, ritonavir, etc. Invokana should not be used by children who are under 18 years old. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
