Minipress (Prazosin) is a prescription medication used to treat high blood pressure. Treating high blood pressure prevents damage to the brain, heart blood vessels, and kidneys. The active ingredient in Minipress is Prazosin. Prazosin belongs to a class of drugs called alpha blockers. It works by relaxing the blood vessels so that blood can flow more easily through the body.

You may need to use blood pressure medication for the rest of your life. Prazozin is only a part of a complete treatment program that may also include diet, exercise, and weight control. This drug may cause dizziness or fainting, especially when you first start taking it. Avoid driving or hazardous activity till you know how the drug will affect you. Do not get up too fast from a sitting or lying position or you may feel dizzy. Avoid drinking alcohol when using this drug. Alcohol can increase the side effects of Prazosin. Store Prazosin at room temperature, away from heat and moisture. Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
