Fucibet (Fusidic acid/Betamethasone) is a combination cream used to treat infected eczema, dermatitis and other Staphylococcus Aureus infections. The active ingredients in Fucibet are Fusidic acid and Betamethasone. Fusidic acid is an antibiotic that boosts immune responses and kills the bacteria that cause eczema or dermatitis. Betamethasone belongs to the class of drugs called corticosteroids, and it reduces swelling, redness or itchiness associated with the skin infection. To prevent worsening your symptoms, try to resist the urge to itch the affected area. Scratching may cause the dry skin to split, leaving the body open to infection.

We currently offer the brand Fucibet from Canada and the United Kingdom manufactured by Leo in the strength of 2 %/0.1 %/30 gm and 2 %/0.1 %/60 gm cream. The generic version is not available.
Get medical help immediately if you have any signs of an allergic reaction while taking Fucibet. The most common side effects of Fucibet may include:
• Body itching or application site reaction;
• Changes in skin colour;
• Excessive hair growth;
• Rash
Contact your doctor right away if you have any of the serious side effects, including:
• Blistering, stinging, itching, peeling, redness, swelling, or other signs of skin irritation not present before the use of this medication;
• Difficulty with breathing;
• New onset of rash;
• Worsening of eczema;
• Your face, eyelids, lips, tongue or throat swelling
You should not apply Fucibet cream on your body if you are allergic to Fucibet, corticosteroids or have a problem using Fucibet topical medication. Before you start using this medication, tell your doctor about your medical history, especially if you:
• Are pregnant or breastfeeding;
• Have fungal infections such as athlete’s foot;
• Have open wound;
• Have skin infection due to tuberculosis or syphilis
Tell your doctor immediately if you become pregnant or think you may be pregnant. It is recommended not to use your Fucibet for a long time or in large amounts during pregnancy. If breastfeeding, Fusidic acid/Betamethasone should not be used on the breast. Fucibet topical medication should be used on the skin only. Do not swallow it. Do not put it inside your body. You should follow your prescription carefully. Ensure you wash your hands before using Fusidic acid/Betamethasone. Apply a small amount of the cream to the affected areas. If you use it on your face, avoid the cream from getting into your eyes. If there is no improvement after seven days, you should stop using the cream and consult your doctor. Tell your doctor about all your medications, including prescription, OTC, herbal supplements, and vitamins. There may be a drug interaction between Fucibet and other medications such as ceritinib, hyaluronidase, deferasirox and other topical corticosteroid medications. It is unknown if Fucibet is safe and effective in children.
