Flagystatin (Nystatin/Metronidazole) is a prescription medication used to treat a mixed vaginal infection caused by Trichomonas vaginalis and C. albicans. The active ingredients in Flagystatin are Nystatin and Metronidazole. Metronidazole belongs to the class of medicine called Nitroimidazole, which works by killing the bacteria (bactericidal against anaerobic bacteria). Nystatin belongs to the Antifungal antibiotic class of medication, and it works by killing the fungi (yeast) causing the disease.
