AluGel (Aluminum Hydroxide) is a prescription medication used to treat central chest pain due to indigestion, reflux diseases, and stomach ulcers. This medication is also used to reduce phosphate levels in people with certain kidney conditions. The active ingredient in AluGel is Aluminium Hydroxide. Aluminium Hydroxide belongs to the group of medications called Antacids. It relieves pain by neutralizing the excess acid in the stomach. AluGel works on the existing acid in the stomach and does not prevent acid production.
