Usage

Elestat (Epinastine) Eye Drops is a prescription medicine used to treat the symptoms of Allergic Conjunctivitis and seasonal allergies. The active ingredient in Elestat eye drops is Epinastine. Epinastine belongs to the class of drugs called Anti-histamine H1 antagonists (ophthalmic). It inhibits vascular permeability and prevents the release of histamine and other mediators involved in an allergic response. Histamine can produce symptoms of sneezing, itching, watery eyes, and a runny nose. Therefore, it would be best not to use Elestat eye drops for bacterial, viral, or fungal infections in the eye unless you also use an anti-infective medicine.
