Dosage

These eye drops should be used just as prescribed by the doctor. This is how you are likely to have good results. The medication is an eye-only product. So don’t take it orally or apply it to any other body part. First, wash your hands and then remove your contact lenses.

Tilt your head back, push your eyelid down to create a small gap, and place the dropper tip above the eye. Look up and away from the dropper tip, squeeze a drop and close your eye. You may press the corner of the inner eye, near your nose, with your finger to help the medicine drain. If there is extra solution, simply wipe it.

Let fifteen minutes pass and wear your contact lenses. If your eyes feel irritated or are infected, don’t put your lenses back in them. To limit contamination, avoid touching the container tip to the eye itself or any other surface. Wash your hands before and after use. It is also important to use your levobunolol medication at the same time every day and make sure not to miss a dose.

Side Effects

There will be side effects when using Betagan Eye Drops. However, these side effects are going to affect just a few people. Some of them will only notice the most common side effects and these are easy to cope with.

These include:

  • Eye irritation
  • Burning
  • Stinging

The common side effects are not the only ones you are likely to suffer from. You may notice some severe side effects that you cannot deal with. These include mostly the signs of an allergic reaction: hives, swelling of the face, tongue or throat, itching, blisters, fever and wheezing.

If you notice that your eyesight is changing when using Betagan, and there is pain and/or irritation, call your doctor right away. The same should happen when you experience shortness of breath or feel dizzy.

Precautions

Prior to using these eye drops, you should make sure it is safe to use. You can only take adequate precautions if you hold a discussion with your doctor about your general health. So, tell your physician the following:

  • That you are allergic to levobunolol
  • You have other allergies to drugs, foods or chemicals. Talk about the symptoms you have when you develop an allergic reaction
  • If you have asthma, COPD or another lung problem, let your doctor find out before prescribing Betagan Eye Drops
