How to Use Flonase Nasal Spray

Before you start using Flonase Nasal Spray, it is necessary to read the drug information, patient information leaflet, or medication guide given by a healthcare professional. You must not use this nasal spray or any other medications unless you have understood the uses and directions. Talk to your doctor if you need further medical advice.

Flonase Nasal Spray is usually prescribed once or twice a day. Avoid administering more than 2 sprays in each nostril in a day. Make a dosing schedule so you will not miss your doses. Do not increase/decrease your Flonase Nasal Spray dosage or use this spray more frequently than prescribed.

Step-by-step Guide on using Flonase Nasal Spray

  1. Before administering this nasal spray, blow your nose and clear your nostrils.
  2. Open the cap of the nasal spray.
  3. Hold the bottle properly by holding the top portion between the index finger and middle finger. Support the bottom part using your thumb.
  4. Insert the nasal applicator into the nostril and block the other nostril by pressing it with your finger.
  5. Tilt your head forward slightly. With the spray bottle in an upright position, press the finger rest quickly but firmly to release the solution. Inhale through your nose while you dispense the drug. Avoid spraying it in your eyes or in the nasal septum.
