Drysol Details (Brand and Generic)

Dosage

Drysol Dab-On Regular is available in the strength of 12%/35 ml; Drysol Dab-O-Matic Extra Strength is available in the strength of 20%/35 ml and Drysol Extra Strong Solution is available in the strength of 20%/37.5 ml.

Usage

Drysol (Aluminum chloride) is used to treat very bad sweating (hyperhidrosis). Drysol contains a unique ingredient which is clinically proven to be the most effective for controlling sweat. The product does not contain specific ingredients that can cause irritation and adverse reactions to the skin. Do not apply to broken, irritated or recently shaved skin. Once excessive sweating is reduced (usually after 3 days) reduce application to once or twice a week. Apply to dry skin only. Wait at least 2 hours after bathing or showering to apply Drysol. Use a hair dryer (cool setting) to completely dry the skin before application.

Side Effects and Precautions

All drugs may cause side effects. However, many people have no side effects or only have minor side effects. Call your doctor or get medical help if any of these side effects or any other side effects bother you or do not go away:
• Burning;
• Itching;
• Prickling sensation;
• Stinging

Tell your doctor or get medical help right away if you have any of the following signs or symptoms that may be related to a very bad side effect:

• Signs of an allergic reaction, like rash; hives; itching; red, swollen, blistered, or peeling skin with or without fever; wheezing;
tightness in the chest or throat; trouble breathing, swallowing, or talking; unusual hoarseness; or swelling of the mouth, face, lips, tongue, or throat;
• Very bad skin irritation.

Warnings and Interactions

Tell your doctor before taking Drysol if you have any of the following:

• An allergy to aluminum chloride hexahydrate or any other part of Drysol (aluminum chloride hexahydrate);
• Are allergic to Drysol (aluminum chloride hexahydrate); any part of Drysol (aluminum chloride hexahydrate); or any other drugs, foods, or substances. Tell your doctor about the allergy and what signs you had.

This medicine may interact with other drugs or health problems. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medicines including those obtained without a prescription and herbal medicines. You must check to make sure that it is safe for you to take Drysol (aluminum chloride hexahydrate) with all of your drugs and health problems. Do not start, stop, or change the dose of any drug without checking with your doctor. This medicine may stain clothing or fabric. This medicine may be harmful to some metals. Do not use other deodorants or antiperspirants while using Drysol (aluminum chloride hexahydrate). This medicine may cause harm if swallowed. If Drysol (aluminum chloride hexahydrate) is swallowed, call a doctor or poison control center right away. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan on getting pregnant. You will need to talk about the benefits and risks of using Drysol (aluminum chloride hexahydrate) while you are pregnant. Tell your doctor if you are breast-feeding. You will need to talk about any risks to your baby.
