Product Details

Latisse an ophthalmic solution used to treat the abnormal growth of eyelashes (hypotrichosis). When used properly, it can help increase the growth, length, thickness, and darkness of eyelashes. It is a manmade synthetic form of naturally occurring prostaglandin.

The common side effects of Latisse include: eye redness or itching.

The more serious side effects may include:

• Feeling like something is stuck in your eye
• Increased sensitivity to light
• Seeing halos around lights
• Severe burning or itching of the eyes
• Signs of allergic reaction:
o Difficult breathing
o Hives
o Swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat
• Signs of an eye infection
o Crusting
o Drainage
o Extreme discomfort
o Eye swelling
o Redness
• Vision problems

You should not take Latisse if you are allergic to Bimatoprost.

It isn’t known how using Latisse might affect an unborn or nursing infant. Be sure to talk to your doctor about the risks and benefits of using this medication while pregnant or nursing.

This medication may gradually change the color of your eyes, eyelids, and/or lashes. These changes may be permanent, even after treatment with Latisse has stopped. It could even produce a drastic cosmetic difference from one eye to the other.

Precautions

Be sure to take Latisse exactly as your doctor describes for you. Follow all instructions that come with your medication. Latisse eyedrops are typically applied to each eye at night. Be sure to do this, unless otherwise noted by your doctor.

Do not administer the eyedrops when you are wearing contact lenses. Wait at least 15 minutes after using the medication before putting contacts in.

Wash your face and remove all makeup before applying. Use only the disposable applicators provided with the medication and do not use the same applicator more than once.

This medication does not go in the eye, but is applied to the upper eyelid, at the base of your eyelashes only.

Store at room temperature away from moisture and heat. Keep bottle tightly closed when not in use.

Before you start taking Latisse, talk to your doctor about your medical history and about all the medications you currently take including OTC and herbal medications.

To ensure this medication is right for you, be sure to tell your doctor if any of the following conditions apply to you:

• Any swelling or infection in or around your eyes
• Eye surgery or injury affecting the lens of your eye
• Glaucoma or increased eye pressure
• Retinal detachment

There can be interactions between Latisse and other medications. Talk to your doctor about whether or not Latisse is right for you.

Answer: No, you should wash your face, remove all makeup, and remove contact lenses before using this medication. Wait at least 15 minutes before putting contact lenses in.

2. Do I put this medication in my eye?
Answer: No, this medication should be applied directly to the skin of your upper eyelid at the base of your eyelashes. Do not use on the lower eyelid or in the eye.

3. How long will it take to see results?
Answer: It can take up to two months before the lash growth improves. However, if treatment is stopped, your eyelashes will go back to pretreatment levels.
