  • The usual Adult Dose for Dysmenorrhea is 200 mg initially, followed by 100 milligrams if needed on the first day. Afterward, 200 mg two times a day as needed.
  • The usual adult dose for rheumatoid arthritis is 100 to 200 mg orally twice daily.
  • The usual adult dose for osteoarthritis is 200 mg orally once daily.
  • The usual Adult Dose for Familial Adenomatous Polyposis is 400 mg orally 2 times daily with food.

Meloxicam vs Celebrex

Meloxicam and Celebrex are two of the most popular pain medications. But which one is better for you? Here’s a look at the pros and cons of both drugs.

  • Meloxicam is an anti-inflammatory nonsteroidal drug (NSAID) to relieve inflammation and pain. It works by blocking enzymes that cause inflammation and pain. Meloxicam is available over the counter and can be taken once a day.
  • Celebrex is a prescription drug used to treat pain and inflammation. It works by blocking enzymes that cause inflammation and pain and reducing the number of prostaglandins that are produced. Celebrex comes in tablet form and can be taken twice a day.

Side Effects

Celebrex Side Effects

  • See your doctor immediately if you see any problems with your body, including gastrointestinal complications, mild pain, leg swelling and warmth, a change in the amount of urine, chest pain, swelling ankles or feet, unusual tiredness, and weight gain.

FAQ’S

Frequently Asked Questions About Celebrex

Can you take Tylenol with Celebrex?

Yes, Celebrex is used for reducing inflammation and is safe to take with Tylenol. Celebrex’s labeling can be complicated for some people who believe the Tylenol Arthritis product might have aspirin.

What cannot be taken with Celebrex?

Examples of drugs that may interact with this medication include aliskiren, ACE inhibitors (such as captopril, lisinopril), angiotensin II receptor blockers (such as valsartan, losartan), cidofovir, lithium, “water pills” (diuretics such as furosemide).

Is Celebrex a good pain reliever?

Anti-inflammatory painkillers, known as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), or just “anti-inflammatories,” include celecoxib. Celecoxib is used to treat rheumatic conditions such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis. It soothes pain and reduces inflammation.

How long before Celebrex works?

Celebrex blocks COX-2, which limits inflammation in the body and pain. How long does it take to work? Some people will notice the effects of celecoxib within the first few hours after taking a dose, but others can wait up to a few days before noticing.

Is it okay to take Celebrex every day?

Two times daily dosing is recommended; more frequent dosing does not necessarily improve response. Response to different NSAIDs can differ, so switching types (for example, from Celebrex to naproxen) may improve response.

How much does Celebrex cost?

Celebrex cost may vary depending on the dosage and the pharmacy you go to. We also offer generic for a much lower price. Check the top of this page for prices.
