Alomide is used to treat inflammation of the eye caused by certain conditions. Alomide is a mast cell stabilizer. Exactly how it works is unknown, but it prevents the release of chemicals in the eye that cause inflammation.

Store Alomide at room temperature away from heat, moisture, and light. Do not store Alomide in the bathroom. Keep out of reach of children.

Put the medicine into your eye and gently close your eyes. Apply light pressure to the inside corner of your eye for several minutes. Wipe away extra medicine with a tissue. Do not allow the applicator tip to touch any surface, including your eye. Close the container tightly. If you forget a dose of Alomide, take it as soon as you remember. It if is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing routine. Do not take 2 doses at once.

Do not take Alomide if you are allergic to any ingredient in Alomide. Do not give this medication to anyone under the age of 2 without your doctor’s advice.

Sever Side Effects : Seek emergency medical attention if you experience any of these signs of an allergic reaction: hives, rash, difficulty breathing, tightness in the chest, or swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue. Stop using Alomide and call your doctor immediately

Less serious side effects include: blurred vision, burning, stinging, or itching in the eye, dry eyes, eye discomfort, headache, red eyes, sensation of something in the eye, or tearing
