WHAT IS COSOPT?

Cosopt (Dorzolamide/Timolol) is an eye medication that helps treat high pressure inside the eye caused by open-angle glaucoma. It works by draining the excess amount of fluid in the eye to decrease the pressure in the eye. It is commonly prescribed when a beta-blocker medication alone is not effective for the treatment.

Cosopt uses a combination of two medications: Dorzolamide and Timolol. Dorzolamide is an ophthalmic carbonic anhydrase inhibitor, while Timolol is a beta-blocker medication.

COSOPT FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How should Cosopt Eye Drops be administered?

Wash your hands first before handling Cosopt. Before using this medicine, remove your contact lenses. You can reinsert them after 15 minutes of administration. Don’t let the dropper tips touch any surface, even your hands, to avoid contamination.

Tilt your head back slightly, and pull a little on the skin under your lower eyelid to create a small pocket. Look up and steady your head, then squeeze a drop into the pocket you made. Close your eyes for a few minutes, without blinking or shutting them tightly.
