Usage

Astelin Nasal Spray (Azelastine) is a prescription medication that is used to relieve nasal symptoms such as runny, itching, stuffy nose, sneezing and post-nasal drip caused by seasonal or perennial allergic rhinitis, vasomotor rhinitis, or other upper respiratory allergies. This medication is for use in adults and children over the age of 5 years old. Azelastine belongs to a class of drugs known as antihistamines. It works by blocking histamines that are responsible for the nasal symptoms. This medication is used for seasonal allergies in adults and children who are at least 2 years old and for year-round allergies in adults and children as young as six months old. Astelin Nasal Spray is usually once or twice a day in both nostrils.

Side Effects and Precautions

Stop using the medication and get medical care if you have an allergic reaction. Signs of an allergic reaction may include difficulty breathing, hives (rash on your body), swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat—If you experience any of these symptoms, please call 911 or seek emergency medical care at the nearest emergency room (ER).

The serious allergies may include worsening allergy symptoms, signs of an ear infection, fever, ear pain, full feeling, trouble hearing, and drainage from the ear). The common side effects may include:

• Vomiting
