Don't let Congress Destroy Your Medicine! Contact Your Representative to Stop Section 805 of H.R. 5651

Our friends at RxRights.org urge you to contact your elected officials before it is too late.

Our ability to import prescription drugs is under attack yet again. Recently, the House Energy and Commerce Committee unanimously approved H.R.5651, the Food and Drug Administration Reform Act. What most people don't realize is that a provision buried in this bill's 294 pages would jeopardize the ability of Americans to import affordable medicine from international online pharmacies.

TAKE ACTION NOW!!

A CBS News article on drug safety informs consumers who personally import medication to only use credentialed online pharmacies, such as those approved in the PharmacyChecker.com Verification Program. Due to the prevalence of rogue and dangerous websites, it's critical to your health that you only buy from credentialed sites.

FDA Discovers Counterfeit Adderall Sourced From Online Pharmacies

The FDA recently discovered fake Adderall was being sold online.

Adderall is a controlled substance, a prescription drug with greater addictive potential and subject to strict regulatory controls. Reputable international online pharmacies, such as those approved in the PharmacyChecker.com Verification Program, do not sell this product or other controlled substances to Americans. Senators John McCain (R-AZ) and Olympia Snowe (R-ME) Stand Up for Your Right to Affordable Medication

Senator John McCain (R-AZ) recently introduced an amendment to the Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act to facilitate prescription drug importation from Canada. The amendment was co-sponsored by Senators Al Franken (D-MN), Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), Olympia Snowe (R-ME). The amendment failed 43-54. Sen. McCain's floor speech did not pull any punches:

"Pharma, one of the most powerful lobbies in Washington, will exert its influence again at the expense of average, low income Americans who, again, will have to choose between medication and eating."

Senator Olympia Snowe (R-ME) co-sponsored McCain's amendment and delivered an elegant speech in its support. She highlighted drug affordability issues and the importance of the pharmaceutical industry's ability to exploit lower production costs overseas, and charge far less in other countries for the same medications sold here.
