Risperdal M-TAB (Risperidone) is a prescription medication used to treat mental and mood disorders like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and irritability associated with autistic disorder. Mental and mood disorders can cause low self-esteem, depression, hallucinations, paranoia, sleep problems, and an inability to cope with daily problems. The active ingredient in Risperdal M-TAB is Risperidone. Risperidone belongs to a class of drugs called atypical antipsychotics. • Reduced interest in sex;
• Seizures;

You should not use Risperdal M-TAB if you are allergic to Risperidone or any ingredient in Risperdal M-TAB. Before you start using this medication, tell your doctor about your medical history, especially if you:

• Have difficulty swallowing;
• Have heart problems such as slow heartbeat, heart failure, or QT prolongation;

Tell your doctor about all your medications, including prescription, OTC, herbal supplements, and vitamins. There may be drug interactions between Risperdal M-TAB and other medicines, like clonazepam, aripiprazole, haloperidol, ziprasidone, cetirizine, escitalopram, topiramate, etc. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant. Taking Risperdal M-TAB, especially in the last trimester of pregnancy, can cause muscle stiffness, drowsiness, or constant crying in your baby when born. Discuss the benefits and risks of using this drug in pregnancy with your doctor. Inform your doctor if you are breastfeeding or planning to breastfeed. Risperidone passes into breast milk and may cause undesirable effects in your nursing infant. Use this medicine exactly as your doctor prescribes. Risperdal M-TAB is a tablet. Take this drug by mouth once or twice daily as directed by your doctor. You can use the drug with or without food. Risperdal M-TAB comes in a blister pack. Do not remove the drug from the packaging until you are ready to take it. Use dry hands to peel back the foil and carefully remove the tablet. Do not push the tablet out of the foil. Place the tablet on your tongue and allow it to dissolve. Do not split or chew the tablet. You can swallow the drug with or without water after it has melted on your tongue. Use this drug at about the same time daily to help you remember. Do not stop taking this drug without talking to your doctor, even if you feel better. This medication may make you sweat less, making you prone to getting a heat stroke. Avoid doing things such as exercising in hot weather that may cause you to overheat. Drink a lot of fluids and dress lightly when the weather is hot. Store this drug at room temperature, away from light and moisture. Keep the bottle tightly closed after you first open it. Keep out of the reach of children.
