International Pharmacy Verification Program

Standards, Guidelines, and Inspection Information for Pharmacy Accreditation

PharmacyChecker.com was established in 2003 to help consumers find qualified online pharmacies. Eligible pharmacies may apply to the PharmacyChecker International Pharmacy Verification Program in which they are verified for licensure and standards of pharmacy practice, and monitored for continued compliance with program standards. Websites authorized to publish the PharmacyChecker Seal market and sell prescription drugs dispensed from licensed pharmacies in good standing in the countries where they are located.

The program is open to pharmacies and online pharmacies, including retail, wholesale, HMO, and veterinary pharmacies. Pharmacies in the U.S., Canada, Australia, India, Mauritius, New Zealand, Turkey, or the UK may be eligible to participate in the Verification Program. We suggest that you contact us prior to submitting your application if you are based in a country other than these. Pharmacies in certain countries, including India, Mauritius, and Turkey, are subject to an onsite inspection.

PharmacyChecker International Pharmacy Verification Program Overview of Requirements

All applicants must agree to PharmacyChecker International Pharmacy Verification Program Accreditation and Seal Agreements. Before you begin the application process, please review the outlined terms. Use the links below to access documents detailing the Verification Program:

Any applicant that is unresponsive or unwilling to comply with PharmacyChecker International Pharmacy Verification Program standards within 90 days of the application date, may not be approved.

PharmacyChecker.com reserves the right to disqualify any applicant if it, or any person associated with it, was, directly or indirectly, found by PharmacyChecker.com to be in violation of the Verification Program.

Types of Pharmacy Applicants

Pharmacy applicants are companies that dispense prescription drugs to patients per prescription.

Online pharmacy applicants process prescription drug orders that are referred to pharmacies for dispensing.

Dispensing and Wholesale Applicants

  • Valid pharmacy license in U.S., Canada, Australia, India, Mauritius, New Zealand, Turkey, the UK or other accepted country
  • Valid U.S. DEA registration if selling controlled substances and, if selling Schedule II controlled substances, compliance with Ryan Haight Act, including Valid DEA Internet registration and website disclosure
  • Valid prescription required
  • Customer privacy policy and transaction security on site
  • Correct contact information on site
  • Acceptance of PharmacyChecker Accreditation Agreement
  • Acceptance of PharmacyChecker Verification Program Seal Agreement Inspection performed by PharmacyChecker if applicable. For more information, refer to: PharmacyChecker Inspection Program, above
  • Proof of U.S. FDA registration for human drug compounding Outsourcing Facilities as provided under Section 503B of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, if your pharmacy compounds sterile drugs products for bulk sales to hospitals and other healthcare providers (this only applies to licensed U.S. pharmacies); see the FDA's website.

Online Pharmacy Applicants

(Includes prescription drug-selling websites that refer orders to pharmacies)

  • Prescription orders filled with PharmacyChecker verified pharmacies only
  • Valid prescription required
  • Customer privacy policy and transaction security on site
  • Correct contact information on site
  • If selling Schedule II controlled substances in the U.S., compliance with Ryan Haight Act, including valid U.S. DEA registration and website disclosure.
  • If selling internationally within the European Union (EU), a valid EU online pharmacy logo must be displayed on the website. See the European Union website for more information.
  • Acceptance of PharmacyChecker Accreditation Agreement
  • Acceptance of PharmacyChecker Verification Program Seal Agreement.

PharmacyChecker Verification Program Fees

Please review the associated accreditation fees and conditions of eligibility.

Upon application, there is a $572 non-refundable processing fee per applicant/pharmacy not subject to physical inspection. 

The application fee for dispensing pharmacies subject to inspection by PharmacyChecker is US $990 ($572 non-refundable processing fee per applicant/pharmacy is charged during the online application and the applicant is invoiced for the $418 balance once we’ve reviewed the application). If approved, there is a $235 monthly fee per online pharmacy and a $185 monthly fee per dispensing pharmacy (no websites associated that sell medications to patients). If the same company owns both an online pharmacy and a dispensing pharmacy that are accredited in the Verification Program, there is a 10% discount applied to both of their monthly fees. The first month of accreditation is free. You can cancel at any time.
