PharmacyChecker's compliance team ensures online pharmacies in our International Pharmacy Verification Program adhere to high standards of pharmacy practice. Dr. Phan and her team verify and continuously monitor that a consumer-facing pharmacy website:

• Partners with legitimate pharmacies that are licensed and independently accredited by PharmacyChecker
• Requires valid prescriptions
• Meets website security requirements
• Publishes customer privacy policy on website
• Publishes contact information on the website for customer service
• Makes available pharmacist consultations for customers
• Restricts dispensed quantities to a maximum of a 3-month supply for international orders
• Discloses physical pharmacy locations to the patient prior to purchase

We do not recommend one pharmacy in the International Pharmacy Verification Program over the others. If you purchase medication online from a PharmacyChecker-accredited website, your order will be reviewed by a licensed pharmacist and dispensed from a licensed pharmacy.

Laws affecting the importation of medication for personal use are different from country to country.

For instance, personal drug importation is legal in Australia, provided the prescription is used by the importing "individual or immediate family member and is not sold or supplied to any other person." In Switzerland, an individual may import medicines corresponding to one month’s supply for personal use.

In the United States, technically, it is prohibited to import unapproved medication, whether through purchase over the Internet or while on a trip to a foreign country. However, it is important to know that people in the U.S. are not prosecuted for doing so, as long as the medication imported is for their own use and not for resale.

All PharmacyChecker-accredited online pharmacies, regardless of tier, meet the same high standards defined in the PharmacyChecker International Pharmacy Verification Program.

Look for this seal before ordering medication online, especially if the company is not generally well known and/or is from a country other than your own. When clicked, a valid seal will direct you to a profile of the online pharmacy that is hosted on www.pharmacychecker.com. Rogue online pharmacies are known to publish fake seals, so it's important to confirm the validity by clicking on it.
