International online pharmacies provide affordable access to prescribed medicines. Since 2003, PharmacyChecker has independently verified online pharmacy websites and compared prescription drug prices to help patients and clinicians find lower costs from legitimate, licensed pharmacies. We evaluate participating pharmacies against established standards so consumers can make more informed decisions about where to purchase their medications.
JAMA, a peer-reviewed medical journal published by the American Medical Association, recommends that patients and clinicians “use PharmacyChecker to compare prices at trusted online pharmacies” as a strategy in responding to high prescription drug costs. PharmacyChecker’s verification program and drug price comparisons have also been referenced by leading media outlets, including AARP Magazine and PBS.

We do not recommend one pharmacy in the International Pharmacy Verification Program over the others. If you purchase medication online from a PharmacyChecker-accredited website, your order will be reviewed by a licensed pharmacist and dispensed from a licensed pharmacy.
Unsure if a website is accredited? Use our Verification Portal to make sure you are ordering from a legitimate online pharmacy that requires a valid prescription.
Laws affecting the importation of medication for personal use are different from country to country.
For instance, personal drug importation is legal in Australia, provided the prescription is used by the importing "individual or immediate family member and is not sold or supplied to any other person." In Switzerland, an individual may import medicines corresponding to one month’s supply for personal use.
In the United States, technically, it is prohibited to import unapproved medication, whether through purchase over the Internet or while on a trip to a foreign country. However, it is important to know that people in the U.S. are not prosecuted for doing so, as long as the medication imported is for their own use and not for resale.

Online pharmacies with the Tier 1 icon only fill prescriptions through their own pharmacy or through dispensing partners located in countries with advanced regulatory oversight. PharmacyChecker currently lists Tier 1 online pharmacies that work with dispensing partners in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and the United States. All PharmacyChecker-accredited online pharmacies, regardless of tier, meet the same high standards defined in the PharmacyChecker International Pharmacy Verification Program.
Look for this seal before ordering medication online, especially if the company is not generally well known and/or is from a country other than your own. When clicked, a valid seal will direct you to a profile of the online pharmacy that is hosted on www.pharmacychecker.com. Rogue online pharmacies are known to publish fake seals, so it's important to confirm the validity by clicking on it.
If you come across a fraudulent seal, please report it to sealprogram@pharmacychecker.com. Consumer reporting greatly helps our efforts to remove fake seals from rogue sites. Thank you for making the global online medicine marketplace safer.
